Google Maps default marker

  • Hello,

I was wondering, is it possible for the Google Maps custom field to set a default marker?

For example, I have a custom post type for campings. Someone can create his own post and fill in the fields, this is not a problem. But it should also be possible to fetch some data from a webserver, and when filling in the post, I can’t find out how to set a marker on the Google Map.

I hope I’ve made myself clear enough, if there are any questions please let me know. Thanks.

  • Hi @mikehermans

So when the visitor comes to the page with the acf_form() you run some custom AJAX which retrieves an address from a webserver?

  • Hello @jonathan

The problem is solved. I was working in someone else’s project, and it turned out that the field had a slightly different naming convention (_ instead of – in it’s name).

After that, I could update the post meta and the marker is now placed when the user gets on the page.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Alright great to hear!

best of luck in your project.
