Getting a Custom Field in Categories from a Post Loop

I’m sure this is asked somewhere, I just don’t know how to put a name to it.

I added a custom field to my categories for images. I want those images (icons) to display on each posts on the main blog archive (home page), right above the title and excerpt. I’m using Elementor’s loop grid to build the custom display of the posts (showing the most recent 5 posts).

Can I get at the category field, even though the loop is being build to loop through posts? Obviously, I can show the category but I’m not sure about a custom field added to categories.

Here’s am image of my loop. Right now the “Newspaper” icon is just a placeholder –it is not pulling that from a custom field yet.
