get_field and the_field not getting the value

I have used both get_field(‘content_box’) and the_field(‘content_box’); for to get the textbox but I am not getting the value of content_box.How i can get it.

Need more information.

What is the location of the field?
Where are you trying to get the field? Template? Loop? Etc.
