Gallery Field Plugin & New Users

  • I think I may have found a bug in the latest version of ACF. It only appears when I’ve created a new user administrator or editor after updating WP (3.6.1) and ACP (4.2.2) to the latest version.

Normally, if the administrator clicks to edit an image from within a page that uses the custom image_gallery field, the lighbox appears with the image and all the editable fields – both default and custom (http://screencast.com/t/y4ZyHqQd).

After I updated to the latest versions, when I create a new user to be either an editor or and administrator, if the user clicks to edit the image the lightbox appears, but it prompts the user to upload images as if there are no images to begin with (http://screencast.com/t/n6jgZAo71P). This does not happen when the previously created administrator edits the image in the same way.

Has anyone else discovered this? Thank you.

  • Hi @marisafal

It seems that the other user is not able to gain access to editing the image.

Can you attempt to use the normal the_content Media popup and select the image / edit in with both user accounts? Is that possible?

    Thanks
    E

  • Hi Elliot – thanks for your reply. For some odd reason it’s now allowing the new users to edit it. For a couple of weeks it wasn’t and now it appears to be working again. Not sure what that could have been? Any thoughts? I’m going to keep my eye on it and will report back if it happens again. Thanks, again, for your assistance.
