Flexible Field : Select from images, not title of flex field

Hey guys, I am trying to figure out how I can make the flexfield in the backend be a selectable image for each flex field, not the text (title) for each flex field.

So when you click to select which type of field to add, it would show you an array of images, not the different field names.

Has anyone accomplished this, or if anyone may have an idea on where to start digging it would be greatly appreciated. I am assuming I will be creating a whole new field option, not editing the stock template.

Thanks for the post.

New to version 5.3.6 is the ability to change the layout title.

This can be achieved using the following filter: https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/resources/acf-fields-flexible_content-layout_title/
