wouldn’t it be nice, if you (as a backend-user) choose an image as a file, so that also the image is showen?
Example: Contentslider with an uploaded Video, OR an Image (so the user can see what image was choosen.

Currently, the file field does show all files including images.
Perhaps you are using an older version which does not support this?
i does show all files. i mean when i seleft an image in an file-field, the image would be displayed in form of a thumbnail ( like a image field)
