Field options readonly and disabled are not working

Hi, I have registered a text field via PHP with the option readonly => 1 and it does not working I also tried the option disabled => 1 and nothing happened. However, when were this options added? Are this options available in version 4.4.11?

Looking at the ACF4 code, this is not available. Looks like this can only be done in >= 5
