Drag and drop for groups of fields order

Hi @elliot !

Here is, in my opinion, the only things that ACF is missing :
Could it be possible for you to allow the drag and drop sorting of the groups of fields ? You implement it inside a group, why not on groups ?

Thanks for the feature request. I’ll have a think about adding this in, but because ACF makes use of the menu_order of a field group, you can use a plugin called Simple page ordering:
http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-page-ordering/

This will allow you to drag / drop the field groups!

I already use this plugin http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-post-order/, which also allows taxonomy ordering (yours doesn’t), but it doesn’t seems to be compatible with your field groups, don’t know why 🙁

Hi @cedric_charles

Can you please contact the developers of this plugin / read the docs on it to learn how to allow custom post types to be ordered?

Some plugins require the post_Type to be selected from an options panel or perhaps a filter in your functions.php?

I have an option panel with the posts type, but not the ACF post type :s !

Hi @cedric_charles,
Did you get anywhere with the devs on this? I want to be able to drag and drop the fields in a custom content group rather than having to create another custom content group that replicates the other’s fields and gives a number for each one to enable ordering in a page.

No I haven’t got any feedbacks from the dev… SO I used http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-page-ordering/ instead.

But I think that ACF 5 will have this in its core, right @elliot ?

Ah, I was wanting to re-order the actual fields within a group not re-arrange the groups themselves. Is this at all possible?
