Hello
How can I download acf pro using wget or curl ? Is it possible ?
Thanks 🙂
Hi @willy
You can be able to download the plugin using the following link:
http://connect.advancedcustomfields.com/index.php?a=download&p=pro&k=license_key
Replace the “licence_key” with your license key that you got after purchasing the plugin.
This doesn’t appear to be working any longer. I can confirm being able to do this previously. Now I get an API Response in the file instead of the acf-pro.zip
In the interim I am using wp-cli and am able to use the link in my dashboard per this suggestion on github
https://github.com/wp-cli/wp-cli/issues/2170
I’m using the following to download the zip file:
$ wget -O ./acf-pro.zip "http://connect.advancedcustomfields.com/index.php?p=pro&a=download&k=[license key here]"
I have been using this method for a while now, but today am faced with 403 Forbidden
errors when trying to wget
the files.
Has this avenue been closed now?
@clayton It’s not specifically a problem with this method, but a problem with general downloading of PRO. I can’t even get it from my account page, nor can I see older versions.
@aalaap I hoped not as it’s really useful to be able to install ACF in this method. It is working for me now, I think it must have been down/ blocking at the time.
Confirmed 403 error when trying to download via the account page or using any other method.
Catastrophic, all our builds are failing
Forbidden
You don\’t have permission to access /index.php on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Submit tickets everyone… seems like the update server tanked.
It’s super awesome that there’s a single point of failure for everyone’s ability to download or update the pro plugin.
Server issues with ACF’s host SiteGround 🙁

A+ support from SiteGround. “you have highlighted that the most executed script is index.php… how is this helpful?” Haha
