Custom Taxonomies in Location Rules

I’ve created a custom “type” taxonomy for posts, and was hoping to be able to show/hide field groups based on which type was chosen.

So if you chose type “event”, I could show you a date-picker to select the event date.

Currently, while my taxonomy and term exist, and I have a published post with that term active, the term does not show up as an option under Taxonomy location rules. Categories are there, but my custom tax is not.

Is this intended, and can you suggest a workaround, or is this a bug?
