Custom fields via wysiwyg interface

I would like to know how feasible the could be:

The idea would be to have the possibility to add flexible content via shortcode in the wysiwyg editor. There would be button where you can select in a list the different layouts created and once selected a modal window would open in order to fill the content.

I guess it would be something like the “Advanced Custom Fields: Dropdown Shortcode” but with flexible content. See this link (although the plugin does not seem to work).

My problem is that I want to embed graphs/tables and other data (created with highcharts and acf) in the flow of the text without having to break the body text in multiple fields.

Let me know if it makes sense.
