Hello,
when I logged into my WordPress site today, the “Custom Fields” item is no longer in the gray menu. I’ve tried updating AFC but nothing has happened. The plugin still works, because it’s loading my home page of the site and is still in the list of plugins, I just don’t know how to access it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You also need to check if your theme/other plugins hook into the acf/settings/show_admin filter as this filter is used to show or hide the admin menu. Here is a link to the docs: http://www.advancedcustomfields.com/resources/acfsettings/
