CPT UI, ACF and Permalinks

I’m using CPT UI with ACF. The original permalink is [domain]/retreat/test-retreat/. When I create a field group and attach it to this custom post type I noticed it changes the permalink to something like this: [domain]?post_type=acf-field-group&p=615 and it also appears under the title as opposed to on the sidebar.

I’m not sure how this works. How can I have the original link is the permalink?

What you describe should not be happening. You may have some other conflict and I would try deactivating other plugins.
