CPT Hierarchical Conditional Hide/Show of Editor

  • Hi I have a hierarchical CPT that supports ‘title’ and ‘editor’.

I have situation where I need the CPTs Top Level Pages to hide the default content editor and show some ACFs, but the other CPT lower page levels to show the default editor and hide the ACFs.

    The problem
When I add a new CPT of this type, the content editor is hidden and the two ACFs are shown. But when I select the parent page as something other than “(no parent)” the ACF fields are hidden, but the editor is not restored until I save the page.

Currently this is my set up:

    Field group settings

I would really appreciate some help with this.

    Thanks in advance.

    John

  • Hi @jcarter,

    Thanks for the post.

Is the option to show the editor enabled under the screen options when you load the page?

  • James,

Thanks for looking into this for me. Unfortunately I have a memory like a fish, and I haven’t got the foggiest what this was about.

If I remember I will let you know.

    Thanks again,

    John
