Convert field group into Flexible Content layout area

I want to determine the order the field groups within the backend.

Flexible Content fields can facilitate this. However I already have many field groupings created. Is there anyway to convert existing field groups into a flexible content layout area?

Or perhaps someone knows a better way to allow ordering of fields (similar to a page-builder approach).

@raison When you create a field group, if you scroll down to the Settings metabox, you will see a field labeled Order No. This is how you can set the order in which the field groups appear on your post edit screen. The order starts at 0. So whatever field group you want to show up first, give it a value of 0. Then the next field group would be 1 and so on.
