Hello. We have the usual Category box on the right hand side in our custom posts. But from this category selection, we can’t seem to associate a “conditional logic” in one of the custom fields.
We can only create category-conditional logic for an ACF field if we create a whole new field called ‘Category’ manually inside the custom field group and set it to ‘Taxonomy’. This field is *not* auto-populated when the author selects the Category on the right hand side box as usual. WHich means there’s a duplicate entry for Category in the mind of an author.
If we drop the WordPress default category on the right and just use the ACF field, then we lose the auto-permalink creation that’s inbuilt into WordPress because we need category in the URLs.
I’m sure I’m not the first one who has hit upon this issue. What am I missing? What can I do? Many thanks.
