Clone fields – better backend performance?

I am trying the “clone fields” first time and I am asking myself if I will have a better backend performance with it (building some kind of page builder with ACF) in the backend? I have lots of flexible and repeater fields … .

I know it can get very slow because of how wordpress saves custom fields … do I do better with clone fields?
