Clone field data resets on page reload

Hi,

I have setup a clone field to show fields on the left or right. Left being the normal fields right being the clone. Now whenever I set values to the left field and refresh the page it copies the data to the clone field.
But whenever I enter data in the right field and refresh the page I get empty fields.

Is this a bug, or is there a way to duplicate fields + values in the same group. I know I can create a separate left and right but that brings a lot of extra code.
