Since the classic editor is essential for WYSIWYG fields, and was removed from wordpress core some years ago, curious if there are any plans to include classic editor with ACF, which would then remove the need for the additional plugin? If not, are there reasons for not doing so?
The classic editor is still available in WP, the plugins that restore this are not adding it, they are simply disabling the new editor. The old editor is used the the “Classic Block“. This is a tinyMCE editor and this will likely never be completely removed from WP.
Gotcha, did not realize that. Would be nice if ACF could also “restore it” also then, though I’m sure there’s a good reason why not. Appreciate the response.
