Character count not changing, affecting SEO plugins

I’ve recently switched to using ACF for building blocks in Gutenberg, overall I’m a big fan of the flexibility. However, I’ve noticed that the blocks aren’t being read by the character/words/headings/paragraphs/blocks counter in the details section of the editor, which is incredibly problematic for SEO plugins and the sanity of my copywriters.

Is this possible to fix? I’m hoping I just missed something in the callback. I’m also slightly afraid that if the character counter isn’t working it’s highly probable that the content is not being read by these plugins as well. This is happening with both Rank Math and Yoast on several sites.
