Can't paste in text into ACF block fields – overwites the block

I have created a custom ACF block which has been working correctly but if I try to paste any text into any of the ACF block fields it just completely overwrites the block in Gutenberg instead of pasting the text into the custom field.

This seemed to be working fine in WordPress 5.3 and only seems to be an issue in 5.4. Is this a change that was introduced to Gutenberg? Is there a way to stop this from happening?
