Can ACFs be included in a site search?

  • Hi,

I’ve got a bit of a problem here. My understanding is that custom fields are not included in the default WP search – is there any way to include them so that my ACFs are included?

I’ve got a site that relies on a bunch of ACFs, but using the default WP search shows that the text content in these ACFs isn’t included in any search query…

    Thanks for any pointers,

    Osu

  • Hi Hube2,

Thanks for getting back to me – so no conflicts with the ACF plugin? Sounds like it returns results pretty much everything I need (custom taxonomies as well), is there anything I should be aware of with the plugin in your experience i.e. it’s a bit buggy?

    Thanks

    Osu

  • I’ve never had a problem with it, except for sometimes returning too much 😛 There are setting for the plugin to tell it where to search and what to return. If you create custom post types that should not be searched you need to make sure they are not public. But I haven’t had any problems or conflicts with ACF.
