Auto Populate Datepicker within Admin

I wondered if anyone has managed to auto populate the DatePicker field?

I have tried using jQuery and can successfully auto populate normal txt fields but not the DatePicker.

I would like to do one of the following two options:

1: Auto populate a 2nd DatePicker field with the value of the first DatePicker ( onChange ).
1.1: I have 2 DP’s and would like to duplicate the date input into the first DP, into the second DP via jQuery.

2: Auto populate a DatePicker with “Todays” date on load.

I hope someone can help?
