I am building a review website where many custom taxonomies are used together with custom fields in a cpt for the reviews. To get a less cluttered admin UI we’re thinking of using something like ACF to gather all fields for the review meta in a more user friendly layout.
Some of the taxonomies used are non-hierarchical and editors need to be able to add new terms inline. Testing the free version of ACF, it doesn’t seem to be possible with the taxonomy field, only the ability to chose existing terms. Is this something you can do in the pro version?

Yes.. creating terms is an option for the Taxonomy field in the Pro version (Added in v5.2.3). I didn’t realize myself that it wasn’t in the free version. However, the free version just released with an optional v5 upgrade, so you can play more with the free version before committing if you like, because it has the feature you are after.
I couldn’t hold myself, bought the pro version, and I don’t think i will regret it 🙂
