ACF Pro // Gallery // Frontend / Respect Rights

  • Adding images through an ACF gallery field from the frontend is great and works.
However, the gallery input widget offers options that shouldn’t be available to authors, i.e. editing an uploaded image by clicking on it etc. Also, deleting existing images when editing a post should be restricted to images that belong to the respective uploader.

How can I restrict the abilities of the frontend gallery field to respect the rights of the respective user?

  • I’m interested in this too. I have yet to create a frontend form but I would like it to be a very basic upload for images. I.e. the only option they get is to upload from computer and it’s uploaded.

  • The singular image field for a logged out user does not bring up the media gallery, but instead shows just a very basic upload a file from your computer box.
