ACF-Gutenberg: Add fields to "sidebar" of block

  • Hey there,

currently we work more with the new gutenberg editor and ACF 5.8+. We created a few blocks and added fields with ACF – this works great. But now we want to move some fields permanent from the “editor”-Screen to the “sidebar” of the block.

Some core blocks do this (eq paragraph).

Is this possible with acf created blocks?

    Thanks for your help.

  • The fields show in the sidebar automatically when you have the block in Preview mode.
If you switch to edit mode the sidebar fields disappear and are shown in the block instead.

Do you want to have full control over what shows in the editor and what shows in the sidebar however then you’d need to create the blocks yourself with Javascript & React.
