ACF and SEO…?

  • Hey there,

I’m using ACF extensively on my website, but it seems like Google doesn’t see the content? Website testing tools show a couple of words per page, even though I have lots of ACF fields filled with content. Am I missing something, or is ACF not good for SEO?

    Thanks

  • ACF has no effect on SEO one way or the other. How the fields are displayed and if it is done correctly is entirely up the the theme templates and the person that built those templates.

  • The fields are just being displayed as <?php the_field(‘field_name’); ?>

Is that the correct way to do it? I just can’t get my head around why the content refuses to be seen by Google :/

  • Not having seen your site, I couldn’t say, however, when content that you can clearly see is not being indexed my experience is that it’s usually some type of HTML tag nesting issue causing the crawler’s XML parser to choke.

Have you tried running your page through some kind of HTML validation?

  • i was actually asking about this i wanted to use it on my SEO agency site
