I’m not worried myself either. But then I also subscribe to something similar to @encodia … all things are impermanent.
Elliot has recently hired another developer, as you can imagine he’s pretty particular about the way things are coded, which is why until recently he’s done all the work himself. He is, as far as I know, working diligently to get a free version of ACF5 launched on WP.
Yes, there are a few issues, the clone field is still not perfect, there can be some bugs, but I find that these bugs are few compared to many other plugins I’ve used.
I don’t really see ACF going anywhere unless WP builds in a custom field interface that is as easy to use as ACF.
