It seems there’s a different behavior between the free and the PRO version. When you click the Edit Image link, it shouldn’t redirect you to a new page, but shows the editor in the image selection modal box. Could you please open a new ticket so this issue can be passed directly to the plugin author? You can open a new ticket here: https://support.advancedcustomfields.com/new-ticket.
