Haha me neither but fingers crossed.
Thanks John for your reply and the GitHub link with all the issues. Wasn’t aware of the list.
Hopefully this will be fixed soon in core.
Generally speaking an event/calendar plugin will create another custom post type. You already did that with the Event and Courses CPT.
It all depends on how complex your situation is but making a custom query based on ACF date fields isn’t that hard and it’s all explained in the documentation: https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/resources/date-time-picker/
I would give that a try fist.
It seems to be a WordPress issue as many metaboxes have disappeared with the new WP5 beta releases. I came across multiple notifications on Twitter and Slack where people are experiencing the same issues, and not only with ACF but also many other plugins.
We better report issues like these at the WordPress forums or GitHub. Don’t think Elliot / ACF can do anything about this issue.
Oops, already solved it by filling in a ticket… The solution is really easy, add
<p class="address"><?php echo $location['address']; ?></p>
within the marker markup.
I’m not working with the repeater field, haven’t even the Pro version. Right now every course has multiple date fields (date picker) assigned. Duplicates of the same course with only a different date is out of the question.
But if the repeater field option is the way to go I’m happy to purchase the pro version.
Thanks John! Raised the limit to 2000 and it solved the issue 🙂
Well I finally solved it by changing the store format to yymmdd. After that I could use the code example from the documentation like this.
$date = DateTime::createFromFormat('Ymd', get_field('date_picker'));
echo $date->format('d-m-Y');
I changed the output value to j F Y
but then found out that the output was English even though it was displayed in Dutch in the WP admin area. But well that was easily sorted with the translation snipper from the documentation.
<?php
$dateformatstring = "l d F, Y";
$unixtimestamp = strtotime(get_field('date_picker'));
echo date_i18n($dateformatstring, $unixtimestamp);
?>
So in the end I didn’t even have to use my code that was causing the error and was making it too complicated for myself when I could use the code examples. But well, I learned something again as this was my first usage of the date picker field.
Thanks for your reply Pirondini! It looks good but just copy/pasting the blockquote code in between the brackets broke it.
I’ll see if I can debug it myself as the PHP code will be tweaked a bit to make it work. My PHP skills ain’t the best 😉
Hi Elliot,
Not really sure if I could bump this topic or create a new one but how can you add the 5 star rating system to ACF?
I’ve installed the new V5 Beta but I really couldn’t find any new fields for that. If you could provide any directions how to implement the star rating that would be much appreciated.
