WYSIWYG ACF fields empty in backend

  • When opening up a page that contains wysiwyg fields in the backend, these are all empty. They are still there front end, if i fill in new content its there also in the frontend, but it doesnt appear in the backend. The normal wordpress content area does work fine.

    Error log shows this error:

call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, function ‘format_for_editor’ not found or invalid function name in ***docroot/wp-includes/plugin.php on line 213, referer: ***/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page

Any ideas on this? Im not sure, since i didnt change the content for a while, but it went wrong after an update of acfyesterday.

  • The function it’s looking for is a core WP function. This function is located in the file /wp-includes/formatting.php. Either the file is missing or the file is corrupt. Try reinstalling WP on your site.

  • Thank you, an update problem messed it up!
