Some fields after content and some fiels on sidebar?

I know that you can select the scope of the entire group of fields. But can I select the location of a specific field?
For example:
I have basic settings on the main page.
Let’s say I place some text field after the content, and some checkboxes on the sidebar.
Do I really need to create two different groups of fields for this and bind them to one page?
