Registering Pod (CPT) hierarchy in Rules?

  • Hi,

I’m using ACF Pro in combination with a plugin called Pods, which is essentially a framework for custom post types. One of the settings I am using in Pods is hierarchy, so that my pods behave like pages–they can have parents and children, directly assignable in the edit page. This is fundamental to the structure of the website. What I want to do is be able to use these hierarchies to determine the rules for when custom field groups appear on a post–you can do this for Pages already, saying if “Page Parent” “is equal to” “foo” etc. But even though I can see the pods themselves if I select, say “Post” “is equal to” “pod1”, the hierarchy feature does not display any of pod relationships. Is there a way to quote unquote “register” the hierarchy of my pods within the rules of a field group? Any sort of function I can include or database modification I can make? I am perfectly willing to do some coding to achieve this.

    Thanks!
