Password protect content in Archive template

Hi all, I have a custom CPT archive template with a custom loop to display a grid with the CPTs. I need to password protect this page but the content is always visible, I’ve wrapped the content with a conditional statement as suggested here but nothing has changed. Other pages with ACF fields and password protected are working perfect but not this one so I guess it’s something related to it being an Archive template.

Any suggestions?
