Limit Choices of Taxonomies

For a project I need to be able to set a limit on the number of taxonomies a user can choose.

For example if I have a category with 10 terms I would like them to only be able to select 3

I can’t find this option at all.

Have you tried using acf/validate_value filter to perform a custom validation of the number of terms selected by the user?

It is pretty simple, the code should look something like this:

function my_validate_value($valid, $value, $field, $input) {

	if(!$valid) {
		return $valid;
	}

	if(sizeof($value) > 3) {
		$valid = 'You can only select 3 terms';
	} else {
		$valid = true;
	}

	return $valid;

}
