Keeping data when restructuring fields

Hello all,

I am trying to change the structure an existing repeater but when I do all of the existing content entered by the users does not appear in the back end. It will reappear when I revert to the original structure so my question is, how do I change the structure of a repeater without losing the content in it?

I have the following structure:

Repeater

• Link
• Text

I am changing to this:

Repeater

• Link
• Text
• Repeater
  • Link
  • Text
