How to "enrich" menu items (li) with field values?

I’ve added synonyms to Pages using ACF. Now I want to populate these as a data-attribute to the li menu items for filtering. How would I do that?

I’m looking for some way to ‘modify’ the li element of a nav menu.

<li data-synonyms=”GET_FIELDS HERE”>

Any suggestions on how to do that?
