I am using flexible content and repeater fields in a page template on my site; to be able to create many different pages of content from the one flexible template.
I have seen that my pages using this flexible content template are loading slowly – does the amount of fields that make up my page affect loading speeds – ie. the more fields the slower it loads? – and if so what can I do to help lessen this affect on performance?
If you show a lot of fields (especially the flexible and repeater fields) on a page, it definitely will slow that page because your site needs to load a lot of value from your database. The best workaround would be using a caching plugin that allows you to create and serve a static version of your page instead.
I hope this makes sense 🙂
