Display a user status on a page (front-end)

Hi, I want to add a field to users in WordPress.
These users could select a status : available / in consultation / unavailable.
These statuses must be displayed real-time, on the site homepage, so the clients who visit website can see if the consultants are available or not to answer their phone calls.
Is it possible to do that ? Can I display a user field on my homepage with a shortcode ?
