Creating a shortcode

Hi there,

How would I go about creating a shortcode that displays the most recent CPTs custom fields?

I want to embed the most recent of a CPT (which is a Q&A) on a page – so users see the question, and the answer. Both of these are custom fields, not post content.

I don’t want it to link to the post.
