Adding icon on choices for select field

The icons are not showing properly on admin dashboard, and is returning &lt; and &gt; in the inspect tool instead of the < and >. I tried using wp_kses_allowed_html filter but didn’t seem to work on the admin side.

Wondering if there’s any workarounds to address this issue?
