Yes, you are correct. But please keep in mind that the blog posts are not supposed to have a template. If you need to use a template on a blog post, then it falls into a customization category. Because ACF won’t know what kind of method used by your custom code or plugin, it won’t be able to support it. That’s why if the original rule doesn’t work; you need to add it yourself or ask the plugin author about it.
