Hi John, thanks for the quick reply. I tried adding the second filter but it still didn’t seem to solve the issue.

Could my method of creating the shortcode be affecting anything?

function twoCol( $atts, $content = null ) {
    return
    '<div class="row shortcode">' . do_shortcode($content) . '</div>';
}
add_shortcode("columns", "twoCol");
