Thanks for the conversation, it’s great to get some different perspectives on the radio field.
It sounds like there is a good case for the radio field to allow a ‘no value’ selected.
I’ll admit, my interpretation of a radio field is that it always contains a selection and that is it’s purpose, however, that is just my interpretation.
My first thought is to add a new setting to the radio field called ‘Allow Null’ – similar to the select field settings. This would allow the radio field to load without any value.
But maybe it makes more sense of all radio fields to ‘Allow Null’ by default, and the user should set a default value if they wish for a value to be selected.
This is a good discussion, and one I might put out on twitter to get some more perspectives on.
