Seems that I need to use WP_Query to loads arguments

$args = array( 'hide_empty=0', 
                'childless'     => 1, 
                'number'        => 6,
                'orderby'       => 'ID', 
                'order'         => 'ASC'
                ); 

if I want to use these in get_terms. See https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/classes/wp_term_query/get_terms/#user-contributed-notes

example:
