Hallo.
Im running a rather large site that runs ACF 2.0.5.
Have tried to upgrade for some time now.
But when doing that, I miss all content.
Im wondering how to get updated, without having to input all content again.
Is there any where i can get access to older version, and upgrade version by version?
Or is there any other way of doing this.
Best regards
Peter
Hi @peder77
Yes. This is what I would do:
1. Create a backup of your current DB
2. Update in increments of each version
To update in increments, use this url (http://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-custom-fields/developers/) to download the latest version 2.
Replace the files within ‘advanced-custom-fields’ folder (in wp-plugins) with the contents of the .zip
Then, do again for v3.0.0, then again for the latest v3, then v4.0.0, then the latest v4
That should work a treat!
Hi @elliot
Thank you for the reply and link to the old versions.
Just what I needed.
It worked like you said 😉
Best regards.
Hi,
I have a problem with my large DB, it has 100.000 lines just in ACF. It’s taking too long to update the DB that I’m thinking that its not working.
Is there any other way to do it? A way for large tables?
Thnaks.
UPDATE:
It worked now, but i don’t get it right on image and file field.
UPDATE:
It’s working, but it’s taking a day to finish the update on each step. =/
