Just like in the title. After updating to 5.1.6 the gallery field stopped working on Chrome. I’ve checked it on two installs.

I submitted an bug report about this also for version 5.3.0 but I am not sure how to follow it’s progress…
I’m still having issues with this.
Have the same issue. No action performing (opening upload form) on “new image” click. No error in console.
@james from the support is taking care of this issue. Hope he finds a solution for us fast 🙂

I worked out what the issue was. This is related to the following closed issue.
Query of Undefined
Basically, users need to have a minimum of an Author role in order to upload media files otherwise you get that non-descriptive error in the console as follows.
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'query' of undefined
