Duplicate editor box Safari bug has returned
  • Since upgrading to ACF 3.5.5, the duplicate editor box bug in Safari has returned (not seen that bug for ages). Running it on Wordpress 3.5 using Safari 5.1.7 on Mac OS X 10.6.8. Not having the problem in Firefox 17.0.1.
  • Seeing same in Chrome in OS X Mountain Lion.

Second WYSIWYG also persists when toggling to Text in 3.5
  • Hi @padcreative, @rickalee

For the life of me, I can't get this error to appear on my local install...
Can I ask you to create me an account on your site for me to test if it is server related?

    Thanks

    Cheers
    Elliot
  • Hi Elliot,

We're running into the duplicate editor box as well with WP 3.5 site. We've encountered this on two Win7 computers running Chrome 23.0.1271.97 in our office. I can't get it to reproduce in Firefox 17.0.1

Let me know if more information would be helpful. I'm heading off on vacation so might be a little slow to respond, but I will be getting online some.

    Thanks!

  • I have the same bug and it's happening on both local and server installs.

When I create a new page with any template (with or without no ACF group related), everything's fine..
But, after the Update/Publish of the page, there is a duplicate of the Content Editor. Refreshing the Edit Page seems to correct the bug... weird.

The bug is erratic, sometimes I need to update many times (not refresh, literally hit the "Update" button).
So, there is no bug on creation (Add New Page and after refresh), but there is a duplicate Content Editor only after the Update/Publish (Edit Page).

I have sent you an acces to support@advancedcustomfields.com for an online example... check the "Sample Page" and hit "Update"... maybe more than one time.
  • I am also experiencing this bug on Windows 8 with Chrome 23.0.1271.97 and tested real quick with FireFox and IE 10 and not happening in either of those. If I can help in any way, let me know.

    Thanks.
  • Hi @Etic,

Thanks, I've got the login and can see the problem. It must be caused when there is a load time (explains why my local version does not show this duplication..)

    I'll have this fixed ASAP

    Cheers

  • Hi @padcreative,

This has been fixed in the latest nightly build

    Cheers

  • Hullo,

Just installed update 3.5.6.1 on WP 3.5
When I update post (in chrome) I have one editor (yay) but no content (boo) until I refresh the page.
This is both on posts and a custom post type too.

Checked and this does not happen on firefox - so likely related to this webkit issue.

  • Hi @lewismc,

I've made some improvements and uploaded to github.
Can you test out the latest code? Thanks

  • Hey Elliot,

That seems to have done the trick. Great Work.
