Draft Status for Field Groups

Would it be possible to add a draft status for field groups?
To be used when you don't want to delete / trash a field group but also don't want it live straight away.
Perhaps a rule that attaches it to a condition of 'pending'?

That's not a bad idea at all.
Perhaps I should just "un hide" the status option from the publich metabox.
